AppServe provides KVM over IP for customers to troubleshoot

We have listened to our customers and have extended our KVM over IP as an option for both dedicated and colocated server accounts who need to use it on a temporary basis to troubleshoot or upgrade systems. We will attach this device for you and you can have up to 24 hours for free to work on your systems.

KVM over IP devices use a dedicated micro controller and potentially specialized video capture hardware to capture the video signals keyboard and mouse signals, compress and convert them into packets, and send them over an Ethernet link to a remote console application that unpacks and reconstitutes the dynamic graphical image. This KVM over IP subsystem is connected to a system's standby power plane so that it's available during the entire BIOS boot process. These devices allow multiple computers to be controlled remotely over the Internet using the TCP/IP protocols.

In comparison to conventional methods of remote administration (for example Virtual Network Computing or Terminal Services), a KVM switch has the advantage that it doesn't depend on a software component running on the remote computer, thus allowing remote interaction with base level BIOS settings and monitoring of the entire booting process before during and after the operating system loads. Modern KVM over IP appliances or switches typically use at least 128-bit data encryption securing the KVM configuration over a WAN or LAN (leveraging SSL, and thus MD5 or AES)

Sprocket Networks goes live at new colocation facility
Dallas, Tx - April 9, 2008

AppServe Technologies is pleased to announce that their data center division, Sprocket Networks, has gone live at it's second colocation facility in Downtown Dallas. 

This colocation facility is located at 400 S. Akard in the Dallas Carrier Center. 

In 2000, an expert telecom development team carefully renovated the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, taking advantage of its inherent security features. Our data center offers maximum connectivity, and robust redundant power and AC.

This new carrier neutral facility is 7 stories tall and has over 14 service providers available.  Sprocket Networks maintains space on the 4th floor with a load capacity of 125 lbs/sf on our 24 inch raised floor. 

This facility is outside of the 100 year flood plan. 

Power is feed from 6 diverse power feeds and power can be provided to our customers from the A and B side for maximum uptime. 

N+1 UPS and Generator systems are on-site to maintain 100% uptime. 

Fire suppression is provided via a double interlock pre-action system.

Our mesh network consists of feeds from Time Warner, Savvis, Sprint and Level 3 and we can provide up to 2 gbps of connectivity.

Manned security is on-site 24/7/365 and card readers and biometric scanners are used to maintain the utmost in security at this SAS70 compliant building.

A secure supervised and monitored dock is available with a hydraulic lift for deliveries.
